I pull into my work/play place and there sits this stunning M-6 in the parking lot, back in the rear near where I usually park. This thing was detailed so nicely it drew your eye immediately. I was entranced. Then I found I had left my phone in the Subaru. Sorry. But it was a deep green. Kinda like this in beauty.

Best BMW, in my opinion. Fuck you, E30.

According to what I read it not only performed exceptionally, but it was the best looking (IMO). I am not a BMW lover but that car is striking. E24, I think. I don't know all those secret code names for BMW cars.

I think the M6 is such a better car than the E30. It looks so good and it just has a class about it that the E30 just lacks so much, especially with all the morons who keep buying and ruining them.

I think I remember reading an article with Bob Lutz calling out this specific car and talking about how beautiful it was. This was sometime in the last 5 years and he was saying if you could make cars look like this you could sell anything. Even though I knew the car and I personally found it beautiful I was still somewhat shocked to hear it being referenced as a metric for modern cars.

these are indeed among the best looking bmws ever produced.
i've never had the opportunity to drive one, but maybe one day.

i really wanted one of these as a kid, but decided to get another mid 80's looker, an XJS, mostly because i'm a glutton for punishment. this wouldve been much easier on the stress levels. although it has 6 fewer cylinders.

the white m6 pictured appears to have the slim euro bumpers. much better looking than the US version. my xjs also has huge battering rams in front and back thanks to the US 5mph bumper regulations.

I wish I could agree, but I just can't. I think the black strips are kind of ugly and the E28 M5 is better in SOOOOO many ways. Faster, lighter, better looking...... (sorry for stupid camber.)

I've tried really damn hard to like these because there are so many good examples on my local craigslist, but I can't get over the fact that the E28 was significantly lighter, more practical and (IMHO) much better looking.

I don't hate it. It needs a little more ride hight and classier BBS wheels (and less camber), but E28s were really damn high up stock.

Some eye cleanser for you. If only it didn't have those pesky US spec diving boards....

Ah, that's a lot better. I don't get really aggressive about the stance stuff normally but when the guys at the factory really hit one out of the park it really pisses me off when people try to improve it.

At least it wasn't an M5. It's an absolutely killer build though.

Every line is so absolutely perfect, and not a bad one anywhere. Best BMW? Agreed, although the M1 comes in a very close second. Keep in mind that the E24 and E30 were aimed at two different clientele, a distinction that carries on today even in the used market.

Should I somehow become wealthy I will acquire one, but in the mean time shall sit back and admire that gorgeous shape whenever I see one.

I believe this is the correct depiction. The bumpers were slim. Kinda figured it was not of the US market. I believe this is the US car.
